Join Encore! Home School Productions in Landis Hall, Friday, March 27, through Sunday, March 29, as they bring the colorful world of Dr. Seuss to life in Seussical — a joyful musical celebrating imagination, friendship, and the power of believing in one another.
About the Show
In this inspired Dr. Seuss musical, the Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including JoJo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks”. Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie la Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and remain triumphant.

Encore! Home School Productions
Encore! Home School Productions is a local, award-winning program that offers homeschool and cyber school students the opportunity to enhance their learning through theatre educational experiences. Live performances for the community are offered through a fall play for 8th – 12th grade students and another sought-after spring musical, for students in 7th – 12th grade and 4th – 6th grade, if the show allows. This year’s Seussical is performed by student actors from grades 4th through 12th.

Doors open 30 minutes before the show. The show will include a 15-minute intermission about halfway through the performance.
