Join Encore Theatre Academy Saturday mornings in January and February at Landis Hall at The Junction Center for a seven-week student theatre session jumping on stage and into the art of Improv!

About The Winter Student Theatre Workshop 

Get ready to laugh, create, and collaborate! This seven-week session dives into the art of improv—learning what it is, how it strengthens acting, and how to think on your feet. Students will build confidence through fun, age-appropriate games and exercises designed to stretch their creativity and cast teamwork skills.

You may recognize Encore! Homeschool Productions from their Apollo Award–winning performances at Landis Hall at The Junction Center, including Don Zolidis’ Deadline and Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka. Encore Theatre Academy is an exciting new extension of Encore! Home School Productions. They provide a safe, encouraging, and joy-filled environment where every student feels comfortable to share ideas, take risks, and yes—look a little silly! Equipping student actors with skills for the stage and for life.

All are welcome! Students do not need to be a part of homeschooling to register.

The Winter Workshop is your all-access pass to every Saturday class in the winter session—one registration, the full experience! Each class builds momentum, helping performers grow their imagination, boost stage confidence, practice think-on-your-feet courage, and leave the Winter Workshop Session 2026 improv-ready at the drop-of-a-hat!

With Encore Theatre Academy’s professional and caring instructors, students get the consistency they need to strengthen their personal improv toolkit week after week. Unlike a drop-in class—this acting workshop is an immersive, relationship-building winter program that inspires growth, collaboration, and confidence in theatre.

While this is a skills-based class (not a full production), families are invited to join for a special “Share Time” showcase on February 21, where students can demonstrate what they’ve learned.

Saturday Workshop Sessions

Encore is thrilled to launch their very first Winter Workshop Session 2026, featuring two engaging classes for grades 4-6 and 7-12.

Student Sessions are each Saturday in January and February; excluding the last saturday of each month.

Sessions are split by grade level.

Session Dates Include:

Saturdays — January 3, 10, 17, 24 (no class Jan. 31) and February 7, 14, 21

• First Session (Grades 4–6): 9:00—10:30 a.m.

• Second Session (Grades 7–12): 10:30 a.m.—12:00 p.m.

Whether you’re brand-new to theatre or already love the stage, this program is for you—no experience necessary, just a big imagination!

About The Student Theatre Instructors

All Encore instructors maintain current clearances, and each class is taught by two experienced teachers for an engaging and supportive learning experience.

Jill Panyard – Area director and acting teacher for Encore and Hershey Area Playhouse. Jill is passionate about helping young actors create rich, believable characters. Her students have earned numerous Hershey Theatre Apollo Award nominations and wins.

Debra Macut – Holds a BA in Drama and Psychology and an MFA in Acting from Catholic University of America. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Debra has performed professionally across the U.S. and currently teaches for Encore, Hershey Area Playhouse, and Popovsky Performing Arts Studio, where she serves as Director of Acting.
