SUMMARY:Catalyst Theatre Presents: The Pursuit of Perfection
DESCRIPTION:Catalyst Theatre Presents: The Pursuit of Perfection\nFriday\, May 1 at 7:00 pm\nSaturday\, May 2 at 2:00 pm & 7:00 pm\nSunday\, May 3 at 2:00 pm & 7:00 pm\nLandis Hall at The Junction Center\, Manheim\nIn the roaring 1920s\, Mrs. Winifred Hastings is preparing for the most elegant affair of the season: her 60th birthday fête. A woman of impeccable taste and hilarious vocabulary\, Winifred invites her oldest (and wealthiest) friends for an opulent garden party at Hastings Estate in New Orleans. Naturally\, her adult children are summoned home for the occasion. Each child is determined to appear as the “perfect” Hastings. But when a wayward house pet\, a tray of macarons\, and one very public masquerade ball threaten to expose everyone’s secrets\, the siblings must decide: keep up the charade or finally be honest—with each other and themselves. A comedy of manners meets comedy of errors. This is a story about family\, appearances\, and the wildly unrealistic expectations we put on ourselves in pursuit of perfection. \n***\nDoors: 30 minutes before showtime.\n***\nAccessible seating is available.\nFor questions and accommodations\, please contact boxoffice@thejunctioncenter.com or call 717-459-3701 \niTickets is the official ticketing provider for this event. SUMMARY:Elva: Art of Redemption — Premiere
DESCRIPTION:The Film Premiere Night of Elva: Art of Redemption \nFriday\, June 12 at 7:00 pm\nLandis Hall at The Junction Center\, Manheim\nExperience the premiere of Elva: Art of Redemption\, an inspiring new feature-length film premiering on June 12th in Landis Hall at The Junction Center.  \nThe film tells the true story of Lancaster County artist Elva Hurst and features local talent. Based on her autobiography\, the feature-length film paints a picture of the beauty of God’s redemption and the power of forgiveness. \nThe Film\nBased on a true story\, Elva: Art of Redemption follows a young Mennonite woman whose pursuit of a deeper relationship with God leads to excommunication and devastating family turmoil. Refusing to choose silence over conviction\, she transforms rejection and heartbreak into purpose\, using her God-given artistic gifts to build a powerful ministry of faith\, healing\, and hope beyond the only community she has ever known.  \nElva\nElva Hurst is a professional artist\, published author\, and musician born and raised in Lancaster County.  \nElva grew up in a conservative Mennonite family on a farm where she attended a small one-room Amish and Mennonite school. Though art was often viewed as unnecessary\, Hurst began sketching scenes between chores on the family dairy farm. In eighth grade\, a teacher recognized her artistic talent and encouraged her to pursue her gift. However\, 8th grade was the highest level of education that Elva’s parents and the school would allow. So\, after finishing the 8th grade\, she began to help out on her parents’ dairy farm. In her free time\, she began to teach herself how to paint. Determined to develop her craft\, Hurst taught herself to paint\, saving money for art books and studying other artists at work. Today\, she owns Barnyard Art Studio & Gallery in Lititz\, Pa.\, where visitors can find her popular children’s book series\, The Farm Life Series\, and experience her chalk talk performances. She also travels the world to share her art and the good news that so radically changed her life\, and fills her art with purpose\, excitement\, and adventure!  \nCAVID Studios\nCavid Studios partnered with Barnyard Art Studio & Gallery to bring this Pennsylvania-based true story to the screen.  \nCavid Studios is a creative arts\, visual imagery\, and design company and the producer of Elva: Art of Redemption. They seek to ignite inspiration in every project. This family-friendly film was made with Incredible local talent\, genuine passion\, and God’s guidance to serve the community and inspire each viewer.  \nView the official teaser trailer and behind-the-scenes videos on YouTube: \n\n\nOfficial Teaser Trailer \n\n\nCAVID Studios YouTube Channel\n\n\n***\nPricing for children under 12\, seniors 55+\, and adults.\nPopcorn and concessions will be available in Landis Hall.  \nDoors: 6:00 pm\nShowtime: 7:00 pm\n***\nAccessible seating is available on the main floor.\nFor questions and accommodations\, please contact boxoffice@thejunctioncenter.com or call 717-459-3701 \niTickets is the official ticketing provider for this event. Don’t miss these two powerfully uplifting hard rock shows!\nThe Protest\nBrothers Josh and Jarob Bramlett met guitarists Adam Sadler and TJ Colwell while they were in high school\, in small communities about an hour outside of Indianapolis.  Josh & Jarob caught the Rock N’ Roll fever after hearing KISS “Alive” when they were in middle school: it inspired Josh to begin learning how to play guitar and sing\, and Jarob grabbed the sticks and kept time on the drums.  After hearing “Detroit Rock City” Adam knew that he wanted to learn how to play guitar and followed that dream all the way to Los Angeles\, where he studied at Musicians Institute.  TJ was inspired by Def Leppard’s two-pronged guitar attack and taught himself how to play\, starting at the age of 13.  They came together as The Protest in 2009 and released their first album “Game Changer” in 2012\, which they supported with their first national tour.  The band released their 2nd album\, “Great Lengths” in 2014 and has been staying busy by playing 150 dates a year across the US. The Protest will stick around Lancaster with their spring 2026 tour stop with Skillet before returning in the summer. \nFront man Josh Bramlett says: “Just because the music is heavy doesn’t mean it can’t uplift people and encourage them. We have a desire to serve others and reach people around the world. We want fans leaving our shows feeling different – and better – than when they came in”. \nSince its inception\, The Protest has recorded three full-length albums and 2 EPs & has had multiple singles on the Billboard National Christian Rock Charts. And their two anthem singles\, “What Else You Got” and “Noise Revolution” are sure to be used as rallying theme songs for college and professional sports in the near future. The Protest’s fun and Positive energy is abundant in the band’s live shows. Their fourth full-length album is due in 2026! \nRelent\nFormed by Miggy Sanchez (Ill Niño) in 2016\, Relent’s blend of hard rock and nu-metal creates a fresh sound that meets the emotional weight of their lyrics. As of their recent release of “Heavy”\, they have been predicted to be one of the biggest bands to come out of Texas’s music scene. The band says Relent is not just a band but a movement. Their passion can only be explained through the intensity of their lyrics and live performances. They bring elements of Hip-Hop and Rap to Nu-Metal style. Between their high energy performance and blended sound\, they’ve created something niche and signature in the Hard Rock genre! \nRelent carries heart in their lyrics that bring listeners hope out of stories of trauma and tribulation. Their songs are a journey that lands with encouragement through powerful testimony and praise. Relent’s Album – Heavy is full of anthems you can lean on\, rock with\, relate to\, and emote through. The band’s determination to walk through the heavy with their listeners and face real pain with praise is what sets this album above many of its contemporaries. Relent’s songs vulnerably take on real loss\, mental health\, anger\, and power struggles in a gripping and resilient way. The Band’s willingness to walk through the hard reflects the faithfulness and nearness of the God they praise. \n***\nDoors\nEarly Entry: 6:00 pm\nGA & Mezzanine: 6:15 pm\nShowtime: 7:00 pm\n***\nAccessible seating is available on the main floor.\nFor questions and accommodations\, please contact boxoffice@thejunctioncenter.com or call 717-459-3701 \niTickets is the official ticketing provider for this event.
